Nature in Music

Embark on an international musical journey at Jilling Terraces with Soundscape: Nature in Music — an exclusive residency where nature, culture, and creativity blend into a transformative experience. Set amidst the pristine beauty of the Himalayas, this week-long workshop brings together four exceptionally talented musicians from India and the Netherlands: Frank Bilsen (pianist), Julien Perez (soprano saxophonist), Karan Chitra Deshmukh (percussionist), and Debasmita Bhattacharya (sarod player). Guided by their shared passion for music and nature, they create a multisensory symphony inspired by the Tso Kar wetland in India and the Wadden Sea in the Netherlands.

Soundscape is produced in collaboration with Direct Create and the Netherlands Embassy in Delhi, showcasing a creative exchange that bridges continents. The project features diverse talents: from Indian classical to Western jazz, with contributions from these exceptional musicians. Hosted by Sheela and Rajeev Lunkad from India and Theo Groothuizen from the Netherlands, this residency highlights the spirit of international cooperation and cultural synergy.

Join us in this celebration of creativity, music, and nature, where each note becomes a bridge connecting continents and human souls. Experience how music transcends boundaries, fostering healing and connection in the heart of the Himalayas.

Come be part of this unique sound odyssey at Jilling Terraces, where nature meets creativity and culture crosses borders.
